Sexual Health Research
With communication in the health fields as her primary interest, Micah began extensive inquiries into organ donation messages, the biological causes of aggressive communication, the expression of affection, and communication in social networks after breast cancer diagnoses.
These studies led to the crux of Micah’s research. Her initial 2014 experiment tested the best way to persuade people to endorse safe sex behaviors.

Conducted on a college campus, this cutting-edge experimental study aimed to provide insight into how public health messages can better persuade college students to have a candid conversation with their intimate partners before they engage in sex behaviors. This topic was particularly relevant to college students, as one in four individuals in a university setting has contracted a sexually transmitted disease.
